Run to make life better for kids with cancer
We are a team of 250 runners. Every year, we put on our running shoes, mobilise our entourage to collect donations and set off to conquer the 20km of Brussels for the benefit of children and adolescents with cancer. We are transforming a sporting challenge into a real philanthropic adventure.
This year we run to fund the following projects
Beads of Courage – Virtual Reality – Massages – Pet Therapy – Aquariums – Hope Box – Sports and Relaxation equipment – Keloa Workshops

Who are we ?
We are a team of runners, must of whom have been affected directly or indirectly by childhood cancer.
Together, we join forces to help young cancer patients, their parents and siblings get through this terrible ordeal in the best conditions possible.
Childhood cancer diagnosis is a terrible shock and a huge challenge for a family. Childhood cancer treatment is long, invasive and tough. Cure, of course, comes first. Conventional medicine aside, exercise, nutrition, sleep, psychosocial support, … contribute to a better recovery.
80% of young patients recover, but many of them will suffer from permanent damage as a result of the disease or the treatment.
Why do we run ?
By running we raise funds to finance :
– projects that improve the well-being and quality of life of young patients, during and after their treatment;
– projects that support parents and siblings throughout the treatment of their beloved one and beyond if recovery is not at the end of the road;
– projects that focus on the development of the sick child: fun and didactic activities, creative workshops and moments of relaxation, inside and outside the hospital;
– the purchase of ‘comfort’ medical devices which improve treatment, minimize certain side effects and relieve pain but which are not covered by social security;
– research and innovation in the field of pediatric cancers.
Our approach
Project selection
The selection is made in close collaboration with the paediatric haemato-oncologists. It also takes into account the needs expressed by children and adolescents who are sick, in remission and by their parents.
‘Pro bono’ and 100% of donations go to the projects
All work is done ‘pro bono’ and 100% of donations go to the implementation of the projects themselves. Our approach is 100% voluntary and the team costs (runners’ team T-shirts, stand, snacks and refreshments after the race, administrative costs, account management, etc.) are covered at 100 % by our team sponsors.
Support from the King Baudouin Foundation
We work in close collaboration with the King Baudouin Foundation that supports our initiative and is responsible for the administration and management of our philanthropic action: account management, tax certificates and payment of donations collected to the selected projects.
Being relieved of the administrative aspect allows us to be more present in the hospitals and attentive to the needs of young patients and their parents.
Transparency and sharing
We provide follow-up throughout the implementation of projects and ensure that deadlines and budgets are respected.
We regularly inform our donors through our website and social networks so that they can follow the impact of their donation. We welcome and encourage our donors to come and discover the projects that have been set up thanks to their generosity.
Partner hospitals
Our team sponsors
We are privileged to be able to count on companies that support and encourage us by taking care of all the costs of the team (team T-shirts for the runners, stand, snacks and refreshments after the race, administration costs , account management, …)
Thanks to the sponsors of the team, all donations are 100% intended for projects for young cancer patients!
They support our team at the 20km of Brussels 2023 :
